Meat-species identification uses target-specific real-time PCR assays to investigate the animal origin of food and feed samples. The linked RapidFinder Equine ID assay detects horse DNA in raw and processed material and includes controls for result interpretation. Other species require their own assays; sensitivity and validated sample types cannot be transferred from one species kit to another.
