GMO testing includes both screening for genetic elements and quantifying defined transgenic events against a reference target. The linked TaqMan Roundup Ready Soya kit measures the relevant transgenic event relative to total soya DNA. A screening result and an event-specific quantitative result answer different questions, so the assay must be selected for the crop and intended analysis.
