TaqMan real-time PCR assays combine target-specific primers and probes for defined analysis tasks. The manufacturer offers designs for gene expression, microRNA, genotyping and copy-number analysis, among other applications. Assay chemistry, target coverage and compatible reaction components depend on the selected design; these different assay types are not interchangeable.
